Digimon Tamers: Battle of Adventurers
       We begin our story in a strange dimension somewhere between the Real World and the Digital World. It is here that Omnimon is battling Mephistomon, an evil digimon who was created from Apacalymon's data. During the battle, he managed to escape to the Real World, where Omnimon could not follow him, vowing to get his revenge on the humans. Meanwhile, Takato, Guilmon, and Calumon are packing for a vacation to a nice island along with Henry and Terriermon. All the while, Rika walks through the city and sees a commercial for the V-Pet; a brand new virtual pet who is suppose to become "the best digital friend you could have". That last statement makes Rika annoyed at the commercial and stalks off with Renamon alongside her. On the airplane Takato and Henry discuss their plans: Takato is to visit his cousin Kai, while Henry is going to explore and photograph some underwater ruins that we recently discovered. They bid their farewells and Takato sets off to find Kai at the airport only to run into him as Kai avoids security guards. Kai had been looking for Takato when he walked in front of a live news broadcast about the brand new V-Pets and their creator, Mr. Tamashiro. The V-Pet is a little virtual dog, resembling a Labrador with the exception of the red ears and tail.
       During the boat ride to the island, Kai jumps out and swims home, deserting Takato and a large, heavy suitcase containing Guilmon on board. It's when Kai finds Guilmon pushing the suitcase with a sleeping Takato on top that Kai realizes Takato is a Digimon Tamer. Takato wakes up in the house and is greeted by Kai's grandfather, Wataru. With the secret about Guilmon out, Wataru merely sees him as a talking dog, despite Kai's arguments that he is a digimon and that there is no such thing as talking dogs. Wataru counters this by explaining ho there are many things in the world he has never seen, but that doesn't mean they don't exist and a talking dog could be one of them. After all, he continues, the mythical guardian of the island they lived on was a talking dog named Seasarmon. As Kai goes to prepare for dinner, Takato, Guilmon, and Calumon head to the water's edge where the two digimon begin playing and Takato watches the sunset. Back home, Rika finds her grandmother on the computer opening email from Rumiko (Rika's mom) who is on an airplane returning home from Paris. With the aid of her own V-Pet while opening the mail, Rika's grandmother said how she should buy a pet for Rika. Rika retreats to her room only to find Renamon ready to battle with a digimon that just appeared. Pteramon appears and after causing some destruction to an oil refinery is destroyed and absorbed by Renamon, who notes that there was something different about that digimon. Suddenly the voice of Mephistomon is heard (though not to Rika and Renamon) commenting on how his revenge will come soon and that the humans don't even realize they are helping him.
       We now see Takato and Kai sitting on the shore eating some grilled octopus. Kai is talking about his future; how his whole family has been fishermen and he wants to be one as well. He asks Takato is he plans on running the bakery when he is older, but Takato has never given his future much thought. Now thinking about it, he looks out toward the ocean and sees a girl their age on a Jet Ski with a large shark like digimon chasing her (no name was given to the digimon). The gang heads out by boat towards the commotion and rescues her from the water when the digimon knocks her off of her Jet Ski. Guilmon destroys the digimon and they rush the girl home as Kai runs off to find his grandfather. Takato searches the backpack she was wearing in the hopes of finding out her name. Instead, he finds a laptop wrapped in plastic (to protect it from water) which, when he accesses it, finds a V-Pet. On another part of the island on a boat, Henry, who was scuba diving and photographing the ruins, decides with Terriermon to visit Takato and Guilmon the next day. At Wataru's home, the girl is having dream where she falls off her boogie board as a puppy, named May, who resembles the V-Pets is pulled by the current into the ocean. She wakes up to find a certain red dinosaur staring at her, and explains that her name is Minami. They don't get much more info from her during dinner thanks to Calumon dancing on the table and Guilmon stealing food, but also because she began to cry.  
Henry talks to his father on the phone about the latest news; which is that computers and systems connected to computers are failing all over the world- with no apparent reason. The two computer junkies conclude that it must be a computer virus, but don't know how. Suddenly the phone line is disconnected. As Mr. Wong continues to watch the news via his computer, a V-Pet begins eating the data on the news broadcast. Rika comments how when her mom is away she misses her and when her mom is around she wants he to go away. The statement makes Renamon laugh like we have never heard he laugh before (which I think is cool/weird/funny).
As it turns out, Minami's father told her to take the computer she had as far away as she could because digimon such as the one from earlier are after it. Minami shows the others her laptop. On it contains the very first V-Pet ever created. He dad made it for her to try to comfort her over the loss of the puppy May, who drowned not too long ago. She tells them it makes her angry that her father thinks a bit of data can replace her friend. She also blames herself for May's death since May followed Minami to the water that day. Takato tries to comfort her, telling her it was an accident and that her father was just trying to make her feel better, but Minami says it would be as if Guilmon died and someone tried to give you a V-Pet in return. He couldn't say any more after that. At the house, a Scorpiomon, who Guilmon begins to fight, suddenly ambushes the gang. Takato follows after Guilmon, who was leading the attacker away from the house, and tells Kai to look out for Minami. Takato leaves just as a Divermon appears and begins fighting (and beating) Wataru as Kai and Minami run away toward the shore. Divermon catches up with the kids and grabs Minami. She drops the laptop on the sand and it opens. Meanwhile, Guilmon defeated Scorpiomon and heads over to the shore. Just as the laptop falls, a bright light is emitted from the screen and Seasarmon comes charging from out of it and attacks Divermon. It destroys the Divermon as Guilmon arrives, but soon another enemy, Mantaraymon, bursts out from the ocean and flies toward Minami. It captures he and flies out to sea, leaving the gang standing at the edge of the shore, Seasrmon calling desperately for her.
During this predicament, a V-Pet eats the data on the airplane Rumiko Nonaka is on and it morphs from a cute little dog to a little purplish devil complete with horns and pitchfork- the virus's true form. Rika and Renamon are walking when Renamon senses another strange digimon close by. A BluMeramon bursts out from a sewer and begins fighting Renamon. After getting thrashed around for a while, she digivolves into Kyuubimon and takes him out. Henry is on a deck waiting for the oncoming boat to dock so that he can visit Takato. As the boat approaches, a part of it explodes, revealing an Ebidramon, who begins to attack the deck where Henry and Terriermon are. With both of them in danger, Terriermon digivolves to Gargomon and destroys Ebidramon. After both Tamers destroy the digimon, a beam of light appears from the sky with Omnimon's voice coming from it. He transports the Digidestined to the dimension he is.
Takato and Kai set off by boat with Guilmon and Seasarmon in the direction Minami was taken. They arrive at a cave only to be attacked and pulled under by Mantaraymon. Guilmon digivolves and destroys Mantaraymon when Takato begins to drown. The explosion from Growlmon's finishing attack sent Kai and Takato flying out of the water into an underwater base, followed closely by Growlmon and Seasarmon. Minami wakes up in a chamber overlooked by an observation room where Minami's father, Takahito, and Mr. Tamashiro are being held at bay by three digimon: Pipismon, Sepikiminm & Ponchomon. A Barronmon appears and demands the vaccine program Takahito made to stop the virus. Growlmon and Seasarmon begin attacking the base when Minami calls out Seasarmon's name softly to herself. Sensing this, Seasarmon breaks into the chamber where Minami is being held and fights off the digimon with Growlmon's help. Takahito meets up with Minami, Takato and Kai, but they searche for higher ground now that the base is flooding due to the collateral damage caused by Growlmon and Seasarmon.
Omnimon along with the Tamers are moving through the dimension quickly as he tells them about Mephistomon's plans to destroy the Real World. Omnimon also explained how he cannot leave the dimension he is in, which is why he enlisted the help of the Digidestined, who he is transporting to where the battles are through his dimension. Takato and the others begin to talk about Seasarmon and the V-Pets. He believes that Seasarmon somehow digivolved from the V-Pet that was based on May, and he even protects Minami just as May would have. Takahito explains how the vaccine program has the power to destroy every single V-Pet in existence except the very first one. He disigned the program because he had noticed that deep within every V-Pets' programming there was a virus. The vaccine was hidden within the very first V-Pet, which is currently Seasarmon. Tamashiro randomly appears and walks toward the group. Guilmon senses he is actually a digimon and Seasarmon attacks him only to be attacked back. Seasarmon dedigivolved into Labramon as Tamashiro turned into Mephisomon and grabbed Labramon. Meanwhile, all across the world V-Pets are turning into devils as their virus takes effect, which allows digimon to start appearing in the Real World to destroy it, as well as allowing the viruses to continue eating data. Omnimon finally brings Rika and Henry to where the battle is, and they join the fight. They all attack together, but he counters by sending them all into the ocean, which he transformed into his own world. Where coral reefs would have been was instead a city underwater, only they could breath and bits of data streams hung around. Fish swam around the traffic lights and streets, and where the surface of the water should have been were instead old and banged up airplanes and ships. Labramon escaped from Mephistomon's grasp as the three attacked- Growlmon attacked a huge ship above Mephistomon and sent it crashing onto Mephistomon where it exploded. Labramon protects Minami from the blast. It's then that she realizes Labramon is as close to her as May would've been. She apologizes for treating Labramon badly, especially when it was a V-Pet. She admits that she really did love her V-Pet just as Labramon loses consciousness. Scared, she yells out May's name, which was the key to releasing the vaccine program. Labramon digitizes and his data begins destroying the digimon around the world as well as the all of the viruses in the computers, but Mephistomon's world remains intact. He emerges from the rubble a newly digivolved mega. Enter Gulfmon. Our heroes attack him, but the attacks are useless. They all digivolve to ultimate and decide to attack together. They turn into streams of light (if you remember the episode on Tamers where Dobermon split into beams of color and gave the kids the power to biomerge in the Real World, it looks like this). WarGrowlmon turns into a red stream, Rapidmon turns green, and Taomon turns into a yellow stream. The 3 merge into one white beam which takes the shape of a phoenix and pierced Gulfmon right in the stomach. This attack is called "Trinity Burst". Gulfmon is destroyed and his world disappears, returning the surroundings into ocean. The whole gang swims up to the surface of the water and takes a big breath of air, laughing and celebrating their victory.
